Required precautions for best SEO (Search Engine Optimization) results

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is a method for ranking your website at the top of a Search Engine’s search results. It is like an Essay competition. In the Essay competition, results are evaluated on basis of relative content, suitable titles, logical structure, suitable summary, and readable content. The same things are evaluated by Search engines for the website like suitable title, summary (description), logical structure (Headers tag)  keywords, responsive design, and site speed. That optimization method is called Search Engine Optimization.

Search engines and social media platforms crawl websites and fetch content and give indexes (rankings). These rankings are used when search queries are related to your website content.

Crawl Websites

There are two types of SEO.

  1. On-Page SEO
  2. Off-Page SEO

On-Page SEO

On-Page SEO is like Internal Linking. It is a section (meta tags) structure that you have to add to your website. We have to add the following things to our website headers part so it can be fetched. Note that these tags must be at the upper part of your header section, If there is a large style tag section and after that your meta tags are available then most of the crawlers can not fetch those tags. The following meta tags are must be in your headers section.

  1. Keywords
  • Keywords are phrases in your web content that make it possible for people to find your website.
  • Good to have less than 10% of the total words on the Page. For example, If your page has 300 words then it is better to have a max of 30 words in your meta keywords tag otherwise it will overstuffing.

  1. Title
  • Title of your website page. 
  • Good to have a length of 50-60 characters otherwise google can truncate.

  1. Description
  • Description of your website page by which the user can decide result is relatable or not.
  • Good to have 155-160 characters of summary of the website page.
  • It should include keywords also.

  1. URL
  1. Optimize Page
  • For optimizing the page the page contains the header tags H1 to H6.
  • Website must have to H1 and H2 tag.
  1. Internal Linking
  • Links from one page to another page on the website must be working otherwise crawlers fetches issues in your website.
  1. Sitemaps
  • A sitemap is the list of all pages.

  • There are two types of sitemaps.

    1. HTML Sitemap - Designed for Humans
    2. XML Sitemap - Designed for crawlers

Off-Page SEO

Off-Page SEO is like External Linking. It is a process of linking or promoting your website using link-building techniques.

Link Building is the process of navigating hyperlinks from another website to your website. This way we can drive referral traffic to our website. There are many strategies for this. 

  • High-quality content creation.
  • Off-site engagement - Off-site engagement is promoting your website on social media like Facebook, LinkedIn. Twitter, Google+, Pinterest, Instagram, etc.
  • Duplicate Content Monitoring - there should not be duplicate content from another source or website.
  • Blogs and Articles - if these are available then people can be attracted to your website.
